I have a tremendous appreciation for most leather goods: shoes, bags, jackets, gloves. But I think I have found the line, and we may call it leather shorts. For me, as I'm sure for many other non believers and trend questioners, if the accused are to be worn in September (or late August, as shopbop.com suggests that I wear them "now") they conjure images of a very hot and sticky upper leg situation that I feel no need to explore. But I'm torn simply by the fact that every time I come across them, they are styled so miraculously I can't help but be intrigued. Perhaps the line could be pushed back just a bit further...to leather shorts' promiscuous second cousin: giant leather underpants.

If someone wants to buy that entire first outfit for me, i'd wear 'em. What's really going to be fun is the leather short trend knock-off: pleather forever 21 shorts soon to be seen in stores i'm sure.
